When I restarted and booted the new kernel, it did not Bring up my eth0 (in my case, an Intel® PRO/1000 Gigabit Ethernet adapter). I discovered you HAVE to support it as a loadable module in the Network Devices section Ethernet (1000 Mbit), when you configure the kernel.But then, it Failed to obtain IP information. I wonder why only the new kernel presented these problems. Well, running %: neat, which incidentally is the Network Configuration tool, Editing the Device and Statically setting the IP address resolved the problem.
